Wedding Countdown Checklist – 10 Months to Go!
Less than a year till your wedding day already! We hope you enjoy the planning process while you count down to the big event. Use these handy lists to make sure you’ve got your bases covered.
Be sure all contracts up to this point are signed and deposits are sent. Ten months is still a long time to wait, but it’s the blink of an eye in wedding vendor world. By now you should have probably secured the following vendors: your caterer, reception and ceremony sites, photographer/videographer, and your officiant.
Start interviewing and/or auditioning musicians, bands, and/or DJs for the various parts of your day. Make sure you’re comfortable with your choices – these people are responsible for the fun at your reception! Want to DIY the music? Find out how you can – for free.
Yum! It’s time to start working on your reception menu. Ask your caterer for suggestions. Your meal will be tailored to the type of party you want – formal plated affair? Laid-back buffet? Outdoor barbecue? Sophisticated cocktail reception?
Finalize your guest list. There may still be the odd addition here and there, but by now you should pretty much know who’s getting invited so you can plan accordingly.
Continue wedding dress shopping. You should be narrowing it down to a few choices because it’ll be time to order your gown before you know it! Here are our Top 5 Ways to Save on the Dress. And if you’re looking for a beautiful-yet-affordable gown, make sure you don’t miss Dessy.
Start shopping for wedding stationers. Take a look at their portfolios and start narrowing down your options. If you’re planning to DIY, start looking into paper suppliers and craft stores. FYI: We’re totally in love with Wedding Paper Divas.
Send out your second round of save-the-dates to anyone on your guest list (i.e. last minute adds) who hasn’t received one yet.
Have a chat with your photographer and videographer to arrange a meeting closer to your wedding date to talk about your preferences and expectations.
Update your wedding website. Post new pics, a digital image of your save-the-date, and any other fun details you want to share. Here’s how to keep guests glued to your wedsite. Don’t have a site yet? See our faves.
